Carrollwood Day School Looks Back On Momentous Year of Football

The Carrollwood Day School Patriots made their first post season appearance after a meteoric rise in 2012.

As people put finishing touches on their Turkey dinners, Carrollwood Day School's varsity football team spent their Thanksgiving morning running plays and preparing for their second appearance in the post season. It was an indication of a year in which this relatively young team spent rising to the top. The team was preparing for their only second showing in the Class 2A region finals when they'd take on First Baptist Academy in Naples. "It's such a great feeling knowing we're going down there," said Running Back Robert Davis on Thanksgiving day at practice. "We just want to get to that third round, we have this chant each week. Public Screening of 'Happy' Movie at CDS

The movie is open to the public.

This just in from Carrollwood Day School: Carrollwood Day School is hosting a screening of the Happy movie on Tuesday, October 2 at 7 p.m. at the Bearss Avenue Campus.  The movie will be shown in the CDS newly renovated theatre located at 1515 West Bearss Avenue. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the movie will begin at 7 p.m.   This event is open to the public. Although this movie is unrated, CDS recommends it is appropriate for ages 13 and older. The HAPPY movie is an educational documentary that leads viewers on a journey across five continents in search of the keys to happiness. The film addresses many of the fundamental issues we face in today’s society: how do we balance the allure of money, fame and social status with our needs for …
