Lady Luck has made her presence known in Florida, where the lone winner in the roughly $600 million Powerball jackpot reportedly bought the ticket at a Publix supermarket.

  Were you shopping at a Publix supermarket in Pasco County when you bought your Powerball jackpot ticket? More specifically, were you in Zephyrhills? If so, take a close look at your ticket. If you see the numbers 10, 13, 14, 22, 52 and 11, then take a deep breath and realize that your life has taken a dramatic term, if you're so inclined to claim the cash value of your roughly $600 million winnings. That's right, you're the lone winner to the record Powerball jackpot, as noted by USA Today.com, in an article posted 2:46 a.m. today, May 19. Mega Millions Game Debuts in Westchase: Will You Play?

Florida Lottery officials say that residents have been requesting this game for years.

The Florida Lottery has debuted another big-ticket national game – Mega Millions – that has launched with a hefty jackpot: a projected $190 million when the winning numbers are announced Friday night, May 17. Florida, along with 42 other states, offers people the chance to strike it rich, with tickets selling for $1. The record jackpot was last year, when Mega Millions paid out $656 million to three lucky winners. Drawings are Fridays and Tuesdays at 11 p.m. To enter, players must select five numbers – from one to 56 – plus a Mega Ball number, from 1-46. Mega Millions has other prizes that range from $2 to $250,000, or up to $1 million if the ticket includes Megaplier, which costs an extra $1 and can double, triple or quadruple non-jackpot…

The Florida Lottery is cashing in on a new surge of popularity in playing the lottery. Lottery officials are offering a series of holiday scratch-off tickets with names like "Gingerbread Dough" and encouraging folks to buy them as stocking stuffers. It could well be the gift that keeps giving for the lucky winners. Florida lottery ticket sales already are at an all-time high. Last week's mega Powerball jackpot of more than $500 million brought thousands of new players to the lottery, officials say. Tampa Woman Wins $5 Million Lotto Jackpot

Her winning ticket was purchased at the Publix on Anderson Road.

One Tampa woman is several million dollars richer thanks to the Florida Lotto. Consuelo Lopez, 57, of Tampa was the $5 million Florida Lotto jackpot winner during the Nov. 21 drawing, according to a media release from the Florida Lottery. Lopez chose to have her winnings paid out in a lump-sum payment that topped $3.5 million. The Publix at 12026 Anderson Road gets the credit for selling Lopez’s Quick Pick ticket. For its troubles, the store gets a $25,000 commission. That particular Quick Pick is the 66th jackpot-winning ticket sold in Hillsborough since 1988, according to the release.
