Publix Coupons Enter the Digital Age

The new tool will enable Westchase area customers to present digital coupons at the checkout.

Westchase area bargain hunters will soon have a new way to save in the Publix checkout line. The grocery retailer is poised to roll out its new digital coupons at stores throughout Central Florida over the next few weeks, according to The Tampa Tribune. The digital coupon program enables Publix shoppers to skip cutting out coupons to bring into the store. Instead, all they have to do is sign up for a free account, select their coupons online and then give the telephone number associated with their account in the checkout line. The coupons that match the purchases made will automatically be applied toward the bill, according to the Publix website. Finding and Cooking the Perfect Prime Rib for Christmas in Westchase

Standing rib roasts are on sale at Publix for $6.29 a pound through Christmas Eve.

Prime rib is a very expensive "company's coming" cut of meat, and typically it only goes on sale around the holidays.  Publix has this cut of meat and many others on sale for the holidays. Other grocery stores and local butchers are also running specials. I like to buy Sheffield & Sons “Angus” standing rib roast which has large, traditional prime rib bones and a good grade of meat (USDA Angus Choice Beef). It is typically three to four pounds. Select a roast that is "marbled" with bits of fat "speckled" in the center of the roast (ask their meat manager to help you select if you have a question). This "marble" will give the roast …

Publix To Offer Online Deli Ordering

Publix will roll out online ordering at several Sarasota area stores later this year and select stores will also electronic in-store ordering.

It will soon be time to ditch that ticket waiting in line at the Publix deli. Publix announced today it will launch online ordering for its deli at some of the Sarasota stores, and select stores will have in-store electronic kiosks to place orders for meats, cheeses and Publix subs. "Our customers tell us they love Publix and love the products we provide, but they look for a way to get them quickly and easily," Publix spokeswoman Shannon Patten told Patch. Patten said she could not reveal whether or not Westchase or Citrus Park Publix stores would offer online deli ordering. "At this time we are not revealing which specific stores will have this," she said, adding that a handful of stores in Tampa and St. Petersburg would be getting the …

Publix, Sweetbay Experiencing Problems With Debit Cards

A representative from Publix says that shoppers can use cash or credit cards.

If you're headed to a Publix Supermarket or other retailer this evening, you should make sure you have a credit card or cash in your wallet to pay for your merchandise.  "We apologize for the inconvenience our customers are experiencing with the pin pad machines not accepting debit, EBT and gift cards. We are experiencing technical difficulties with that system," said Publix spokesperson Shannon Patten in an email. Patten suggests that customers check with each store before shopping by visiting the Publix store locator section of their website.  "Publix stores do accept credit cards and checks with proper identification or cash for their transaction," she said. A spokesperson for Sweetbay Supermarkets confirmed that their machines were …
