Suzanne Ciani Foundation Benefits from Upcoming Fundraiser

Westchase area residents who don't mind the short drive to Lutz can enjoy food for a cause later this week.

Mark your calendars for a special event at The Gathering Place in Lutz. The "Festival For A Cure" is set for Sunday, April 28 at the restaurant. The event will mix food trucks, music and vendors all in the name of brain cancer research. The event benefits the Suzanne Ciani Brain Cancer Foundation. Ciani, a Carrollwood area resident, lost her battle with brain cancer recently, but her family continues to spread the message of awareness through the Gathering Place event. The Cianis are also the founders of the Odessa Organic Farmers Market, which serves area residents weekly with a variety of produce. Live Music, Food Trucks at 'Truckin' for a Cure'

Proceeds from the event benefit brain cancer research.

Food truck fans, there's a monthly event you may want to put on your calendars. "Truckin' for a Cure" happens the first Friday of the month at Holy Trinity Church of Lutz, 20735 Leonard Road, according to the event's Facebook page. The events benefit the Suzanne Ciani Brain Cancer Foundation. John Ciani, Suzanne's husband, owns and operates the Odessa Organic Farmer's Market. "There will be food trucks with amazing food, live music and many vendors," organizers wrote. The next "Truckin' for a Cure" will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 1.
