Saturday Morning Market Leaves Westchase

The once-a-month market will set up shop in Carrollwood.

Since October, the monthly Fresh Market at Westchase has taken up residence on the grassy lawn near Maloney's Irish Pub, providing fresh produce, a variety of vendors and activities for the community. But those are just memories now. The market will be moving the fun from Westchase to Carrollwood starting in May, according to this Tampa Tribune article. Apparently the move was necessitated by safety, according to market organizers. Power lines located near the Westchase market location were making it dangerous for certain vendors. Those using tents with metal were experiencing shocks when the grass was wet, Greg Barnhill, director of operations for the market, told the Tribune. Patch Minute: Soggy Doggy Day, Vino, Farmer's Market and More

Temple Terrace is going to the dogs this weekend when the Family Recreation Complex hosts the city’s first-ever Soggy Doggy Day. The event takes place Saturday, 11 a.m.-3:30 p.m., and is open to pups from all over Tampa. Admission is $5 per dog. “The sponsors that have contributed to the event are Temple Terrace Animal and Bird Hospital and Lowry Park Zoo,” said Scott Andrews, recreation supervisor for the City of Temple Terrace said. “They have contributed fantastic prizes for our contest winners. Farmer's Market Debuts Saturday Morning in Westchase

The market opens at 10 a.m. on Saturday morning in the Westchase Town Center.

After weeks of anticipation The Westchase Fresh Market will open at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13, in the Westchase Town Center. The event is organized by Tampa Bay Markets, a grassroots company who organizes farmer's markets around the area, including Hyde Park Village and Seminole Heights Sunday Morning Market. The Westchase market will be held every second Saturday of the month, said Tiffany Ferrecchia, director of operations for Tampa Bay Markets. The Fresh Market will feature a variety of local vendors selling fresh, local, homemade, handcrafted or eco-friendly products.
