Bryant Golf Classic Tees Off April 21

The golf tournament will benefit the Mary Bryant Elementary School PTA.

Golfers are urged to sign up now for the Bryant Golf Classic scheduled for Sunday, April 21 at the Westchase Golf Club, 11602 Westchase Golf Dr., Tampa. The deadline to register is April 16. The tournament, organized by the Mary Bryant Elementary School PTA, will begin with check-in at 12:30 p.m., followed by a shotgun start at 1:30 p.m. The day will include a sack lunch, games, prizes and dinner. St. Francis Society to Host Golf Tournament Sat, Dec. 15

The rescue organization places hundreds of homeless animals a year.

For more than a dozen years, St. Francis Society Animal Rescue has been working to place Tampa Bay's homeless dogs and cats with caring owners. The all-volunteer and nonprofit organization is named after St. Francis of Assisi, who chose to live in poverty and care for animals. On Oct. 4, a blessing of animals is held in honor of St. Francis around the world. Each year the society places more than 1,000 cats and dogs with new owners including some in Westchase. Kristina Fazio, who works at Mi Bebe in Westchase, serves as the organization's board director and volunteer coordinator. Bakas Equestrian Center Helps Disabled Find Strength

The equestrian center is hosting its annual golf tournament in hopes to raise funds for thousands of disabled riders.

For the past 25 years Bakas Equestrian Center has been helping disabled people realize healthier more mobile lives. Funded and operated by the Hillsborough County Parks, Recreation and Conservation Department, the program provides group riding lessons, trail rides, carriage riding, parties and special events for the physically impaired and developmentally delayed public. Riders have the opportunity to compete in a local Special Olympics, which are hosted at Bakas Equestrian Center each year. The center is located at 11510 Whisper Lake Trail in the Highland Park area of Hillsborough County. Bakas Equestrian Center Golf Tournament Announced

Take part in this November tournament to help raise money for the therapeutic program.

For more than two decades the Bakas Equestrian Center has been part of Hillsborough County's therapeutic recreation program helping thousands of disabled riders benefit. The Center hosts riding lessons for children and adults who have physical and or mental disabilities. Each year, it costs $3,500 to care for one horse. This year the center is hosting a golf tournament to help offset some these cost. Show your support for Bakas by signing up for the tournament on Sunday, Nov. 4 at the Westchase Golf Club, 11602 Westchase Golf Drive in Tampa. This four-person scramble begins with a 12:30 p.m. shotgun start.
