The mall is playing host to a carnival, complete with rides, through April 7.
Westchase families looking for a little carnival fun need only pay a visit to Westfield Citrus Park mall over the next few days to get their fill of popcorn, cotton candy and rides – lots of rides. The carnival is in town through April 7 and has set up shop near Sears in the Macy’s parking lot. Ride tickets are $1.25 each or 18 for $20. All-day armbands are $20 per person each day, according to the Westfield Citrus Park Facebook page. Rides on the midway include the Zipper, bumper cars, a tilt-a-whirl and swings. There’s even a Ferris wheel and lots of rides for younger child. The carnival fun is also made complete with lots of food vendors on site serving up funnel cakes, fried Oreos, corn dogs and other festival fare. Want to check out …

The school’s PTA invites families to a night of kid-friendly cinema, popcorn and fun.
Heads up Mary E. Bryant Elementary School families: Family Movie Night is just around the corner. The Bryant PTA has set the date for the annual event for April 5. The fun starts at 6:30 p.m. and includes free popcorn and a concession stand with lots of items available for purchase. The movie selection this year is “Hotel Transylvania,” according to the PTA’s Facebook page. “Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and anything that will make this night enjoyable,” an email from the PTA stated. “We will also have a raffle for the movie at the end of the show.” Have an event coming up? The Upper Tampa Bay Library is playing host to a number of events March 14 geared toward aspiring artists and area families.
Would-be teen filmmakers and preschoolers with a penchant for arts and crafts might want to pay a visit to the Upper Tampa Bay Library this week. The library, 11211 Countryway Blvd., has a few programs on tap Thursday, March 14 that could be of interest. Here’s a look at the schedule for Thursday: Families aren’t being left out of Thursday’s lineup either. Family Time starts at 7 p.m. and includes stories, songs, rhymes and more.
