It's the biggest sports day of the year. Super Bowl XLVII airs this Sunday, Feb. 3. This year the Baltimore Ravens will take on the San Francisco 49ers in New Orleans. Even if you're not a huge football fan, Super Bowl Sunday is a great day to get together with friends and enjoy some good eats. World of Beer is known as a Westchase staple, where friends gather to catch up and enjoy brews, from literally around the globe. What started as a small neighborhood watering hole has evolved into a nationwide, franchised corporation. In this story Patch caught up with Scott Zepp, who along with Matt LaFon, founded World of Beer. Zepp reflects on five years of booming business. The popular outdoor event will continue through November.
In the two years since First Fridays Westchase launched, it's become one of the most popular events in the neighborhood. Now, FF goers will be able to take advantage of the fun for at least one additional Friday this year. The event, which was usually extends from May to October, will now extend to November. "The weather has been much warmer this year," said Dung To, general manager for World of Beer Westchase. "We wanted to see if families were still up to coming out even though it's a bit cooler. We love that outdoor vibe!" World of Beer, located at 9524 W. Linebaugh Ave. in Westchase Town Center, has led the way in organizing the event. Maloney's Local Irish Pub and Tijuana Flats, also located in the center, are key sponsors as well. …
