When Do Polls Close in Hillsborough County?

If you're trying to vote on your way home, make sure you're headed to the right spot.

There are over 300 voting locations in Hillsborough County. Voting locations in Hillsborough County are open until 7 p.m. on November 6, 2012.  To find your voting location, check here.

When Will Election Results Be Announced in Hillsborough County?

Polls close in Hillsborough County at 7 p.m. Florida's election results could soon follow.

Once you have been to your polling location, or otherwise cast your ballot, you may be wondering when voting results will be announced in Hillsborough County. It's hard to predict exactly when the Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections will have all of the county votes in and counted, but here's what we do know: The statewide results for Florida might take a bit longer because portions of the panhandle are in the Central Time Zone and polls will close there at 8 p.m. EST.

How Do I Find Out Where to Vote in Westchase?

Here are the two things you need to do before you head out the door to vote on Nov. 6, 2012.

  It's important to know exactly where you need to go to cast your vote on election day. Here is the quickest way to make sure you are headed to the right spot. Hillsborough County opens more than 300 polling places on Election Day. Hours are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Visit the Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections website and enter your information. Remember to bring a valid and current photo and signature ID. The elections office has provided a list of acceptable and valid forms of photo and signature ID.

Mitt Romney Plans Tampa Rally For Wednesday

Gov. Mitt Romney is expected to appear at Landmark Aviation on Westshore Boulevard in Tampa.

Tampa Bay area residents hoping to hear from former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney before the election are in luck. The Romney campaign has announced it will make a stop in Tampa on Wednesday, October 31. According to Romney's campaign, he and Congressman Connie Mack both will appear at Landmark Aviation, 2450 N. Westshore Boulevard, Tampa, at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday for a rally. Doors open at 8:45 a.m. for area residents who have a ticket. In order to get a ticket, you can register online or pick up a ticket at the campaign's state headquarters, 302 Knights Run Ave., in Tampa. Those attending can expect to go through airport-like security, according to the Romney campaign. Stay with Patch for updates on the rally.

Who Won The Debate? Local Political Influencers Weigh In

Patch surveyed 136 local political influencers immediately following the first presidential debate.

Tampa Bay area Republicans and Democrats weighed in on the most memorable and impactful moments of last night’s presidential debate.   Patch surveyed 136 influential conservatives and liberals immediately following the debate and asked what they felt were the biggest moments of the night. One Democratic respondent wrote, “The president played it safe and was not as aggressive as he should have been.” One conservative who felt Romney won the debate by a wide margin said he thought the most memorable moment was “when Romney asked the president why he spent two years focused on passing Obamacare instead of trying to get people back to work.” A Democrat who felt that Romney won the debate by a slim margin said, “the fact that the president …

Ronda Storms Defeats Rob Turner, Watches Returns in Valrico

Ronda Storms met with supporters Primary Election Night at Cheddar Biscuit in the Plaza Bella shopping center in Bloomindgale to watch returns. Storms, a state Senator, beat Rob Turner in her race to become Hillsborough County's next property appraiser.

  Ronda Storms was in Valrico on Aug. 14 to watch the returns that signaled her victorious bid to become the Republican candidate in the 2012 race for Hillsborough County Property Appraiser. At the Cheddar Biscuit restaurant in the Plaza Bella shopping center off Bloomingdale Avenue and Bell Shoals Road, Storms said she sees the electorate as "very engaged" as she learned of her solid showing against her Republican opponent, and incumbent candidate, Rob Turner. Storms soundly defeated Turner with 70.2 percent of the 56,065 votes cast at all of Hillsborough's 347 precincts. Turner received 16,709 votes. "They're paying attention, they're frustrated, and they want people to be who they say they are," Storms said of this year's electorate. …
