What Should Replace Local Sweetbay Supermarkets?

The large grocery store closed its doors this week. What would you like to see take its place?

Now that both local Sweetbay stores have closed, attention has turned to what to do with the large, empty retail spaces left behind. On the Weschase Patch Facebook page, users seemed to favor seeing one of three retailers move in to the space.  Beth Padgett Edwards voted for a Total Wine.  Tylene Guy Headley,  Heather Long, Christina Rio Patterson and Leslie Blaze all commented that they would like to see a Fresh Market move in. Some close friends of mine who live in New York happen to be a manager of Trader Joe's and they want to move down here when Trader Joe's comes in. This is in the making that they ARE scouting for the right place and area. I think it would be perfect for this area!   more ›

They closed my Sweetbay at 1943 Alt. 19 N., Tarpon Springs . My best wishes go out to all the people I knew there. It was just outside my neighborhood & I always shopped there. The shopping center where they were is devistated & I can see it all going under unless another merchant takes up the location. Now I have to go way out of my way to get to other Sweetbay stores.   more ›
