Thief Swipes McDonald’s Charity Collection Box

The man now sought by cops walked up to the drive-through and swiped the cash.

Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputies are on the hunt for a man they say stole an estimated $400 from a McDonald’s charity collection box.

The crime in question unfolded around 12:39 a.m. Aug. 15 when deputies say a man swiped the collection box outside the 7350 Waters Ave. restaurant’s drive-through window. The box had an estimated $400 in donations inside.

Deputies have released surveillance video of the incident and are hoping someone recognizes the man they’d like to talk to about the theft.

The suspect is described as a white male between the age of 22 and 29. He’s about 6 feet tall and weighs about 190 pounds. The man has a medium complexion, medium build, short black hair and a brown goatee. He was last seen wearing a pink T-shirt, blue shorts and brown flip-flops.
